Fable, the reboot of the classic Xbox RPG series, has encountered another delay, with its release now set for February 2027. This postponement moves the launch from fall 2026, allowing developers more time to enhance the game and avoid competition with Grand Theft Auto VI, which is slated for release on November 19.
This decision comes as the year is filled with significant game releases, including Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Control Resonant. Microsoft aims to ensure Fable has the opportunity to shine without clashing with these highly anticipated titles. Originally announced in 2020, the reboot's development has extended over seven years, with gameplay footage unveiled only in January 2026.
Fable will be accessible on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, in addition to being available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Microsoft plans to showcase a significant update on the game during the Xbox Games Showcase on June 7.
