Recent footage from streamer Zybak has highlighted troubling activities within the early access alpha of Ashes of Creation, showing a range of cheating behaviors. The video features instances of bots involved in real-money trading (RMT), hacking, and item duplication, revealing a significant issue in the game's community. Zybak documents how members of a specific player-run guild, allegedly using duped gear, easily defeated his character during player-versus-player combat.
The MMORPG’s Discord channels are filled with similar allegations of bots and item duplication, aligning with Zybak's findings. Just weeks prior, Steven Sharif of Intrepid Studios acknowledged the RMT problem and reported that 200 players had been banned for such activities. As the holiday break continues, concerns are mounting among regular players about these rampant issues.
Zybak emphasizes the necessity for decisive action from the developers to address the situation effectively. He argues for the implementation of promised tools to combat such cheating, suggesting the current circumstances require more than just standard responses to minor exploits.
