This new installment will introduce a protagonist named Evie, who pays tribute to the character Eve from the original game.
Building on the success of its predecessor, which received an 81 rating on Metacritic, Blood Rain aims to enhance the combination of stunning visuals and dynamic combat that defined the first game. The reveal trailer showcased a blend of visually striking cutscenes and intense combat sequences, highlighting a shift in enemy design towards a more body-horror theme.
In a notable change, Shift Up will self-publish Blood Rain, diverging from its previous partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment. This decision follows player feedback regarding the exclusivity of the first game on PlayStation prior to its PC release, reflecting a broader trend of exclusivity in the gaming industry.
