The upcoming Pocket Vert by Ayaneo is set to launch at an early bird price of $269, significantly lower than the $449 price tag of its predecessor, the Pocket DMG. This new device aims to appeal to retro gaming enthusiasts who found the previous model too expensive.
Featuring a compact design, the Pocket Vert boasts a 3.5-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1,600 x 1,440 pixels. It is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, enabling compatibility with games up to the PlayStation 2 and select Nintendo Switch titles. Additionally, the handheld incorporates a touch pad that serves as a joystick, along with a fingerprint sensor embedded in the power button.
The device includes essential connectivity options such as a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD card slot for expanded storage. An Indiegogo campaign will soon launch, allowing backers to secure the Pocket Vert at its introductory price before it rises to $339 for retail. A more advanced version featuring 12GB of memory and 256GB of storage will also be available for an early bird price of $369, increasing to $439 later on.
