Apple TV is expanding its lineup of sci-fi series with two new spinoffs set to premiere soon. The first, titled Star City, will debut on May 29, featuring two episodes, with subsequent releases scheduled weekly until July 10. This series will offer an alternative perspective on the space race, focusing on the Soviet Union's achievements rather than the American narrative presented in For All Mankind.
In addition to Star City, another spinoff from the currently airing series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is in development. The new series will center on Colonel Lee Shaw, portrayed by Wyatt Russell, who embarks on a covert operation in 1984 aimed at thwarting Soviet plans involving a monstrous Titan. Joby Harold, known for his work on the Monsterverse, will serve as showrunner.
While the exact release date for the Monarch spinoff remains unannounced, it is anticipated to debut in 2027 or later. As Apple TV continues to grow its sci-fi offerings, fans are encouraged to share their thoughts on the direction of the platform.
