A new design for the sidebar in the YouTube app on TVs, including Google TV, is being introduced to enhance user accessibility. This update, which is being rolled out to select users, aims to streamline access to the Subscriptions and Library sections, which are frequently utilized by viewers.
The revamped sidebar retains the Search and Home features at the top, but adds a section below that directly links to Subscriptions and Library, along with two channel shortcuts that may reflect recent activity or algorithmic suggestions. Additional shortcuts for categories like News, Live, Podcasts, Music, Gaming, and Sports follow, although these options may vary based on the specific TV model.
This change appears to be a server-side update, as some users have already reported seeing it on devices such as Samsung TVs and Google TV. A Settings button continues to be located at the bottom of the sidebar, ensuring users have access to configuration options.
