T-Mobile has introduced a new plan called the Better Value plan as of January 2026, prompting customers to reconsider their current mobile service options. The T-Mobile Essentials Saver plan, priced at $50 for unlimited data, provides users with 50GB of high-speed "Premium" data before speeds drop to 3G for the rest of the month.
Customers can use their phones as hotspots, but the connection will only support 3G speeds. While calls, texts, and data in Canada and Mexico are unlimited, data speeds in those regions are restricted to 2G. The plan allows for up to six lines, with the third line free, although all users must be on the same plan.
In comparison, the Essentials and Essentials Saver plans offer nearly identical features, including the same 50GB of high-speed data. However, T-Mobile warns that Essentials customers may experience slower speeds due to data prioritization once they exceed their monthly limit. Notably, taxes and fees are not included in the advertised monthly cost.
