Bose has launched a new home audio hardware collection that integrates Amazon's upgraded AI, Alexa+, into its products. The collection includes the $299 Lifestyle Ultra Speaker, which can work independently or as part of a Dolby Atmos system, and the $1,099 Lifestyle Ultra Soundbar, designed for enhanced spatial audio with multiple drivers. Additionally, an $899 Lifestyle Ultra Subwoofer is available to enrich the audio experience.
These devices connect via Wi-Fi to services like Apple AirPlay, Google Cast, and Spotify Connect, along with Bluetooth capabilities for direct streaming. Users can issue complex voice commands to Alexa+, allowing for personalized audio experiences such as guided meditation sessions accompanied by curated music playlists.
Importantly, Alexa+ will also be accessible on older Bose devices, including various models of the Smart Soundbar and Home Speaker, without the need for the latest hardware. The service can be obtained for free with a Prime membership or for $20 per month. This expansion of Alexa+ availability marks a significant enhancement in user options beyond previous choices like Echo devices.
