The newly announced Sonos Play portable speaker is set to launch with a price of $299, placing it between the Move 2 at $489.99 and the Roam 2 at $179. This speaker features a charging base and is designed for portability, offering up to 24 hours of battery life. With an IP67 waterproof rating, it is built for durability and includes a power bank for charging other devices.
For the first time, users can connect multiple Sonos Play speakers via Bluetooth, allowing for group listening even when not connected to WiFi. It also incorporates Automatic Trueplay™ technology for sound adaptation based on the environment. The pre-order for the Sonos Play begins now, with an official release scheduled for March 31.
In addition, Sonos is introducing the Era 100 SL, a microphone-free version of its wireless speaker. Priced at $189, this model provides a simpler entry point into the Sonos ecosystem while maintaining high-quality sound. Pre-orders for the Era 100 SL are also open, with shipping expected by the end of this month.
