Snapseed 4.0.1 for Android is being rolled out, introducing a new shortcut that allows users to launch the camera feature directly from their homescreen. By long-pressing the app icon, users can access a “Camera” shortcut, designed with the same icon as the floating action button within the app. This update aims to enhance the user experience by allowing immediate access to the camera without navigating through the gallery.
In addition to the Android update, iOS users will benefit from shortcuts available on the lockscreen and Control Center, alongside a homescreen widget and Camera Control integration. The update also seeks to resolve previous issues encountered by some Samsung device users with the Snapseed Camera functionality.
Snapseed's development team, associated with Google Photos, has been responsive to user feedback, particularly on platforms like Reddit. The latest version of the app is now accessible through the Google Play Store, expanding its reach to a wider audience.
