Apple is set to unveil a redesigned version of Siri as part of the upcoming iOS 27, with significant visual and functional enhancements. The new interface is expected to incorporate design elements inspired by the artwork from the WWDC26 promotional materials, particularly noticeable in dark mode settings, where it features a glowing effect.
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg notes that the revamped Siri will emerge from the Dynamic Island on iPhones, expanding to display a prompt that invites users to "Search or Ask." This new look is aimed at creating a more cohesive experience in line with modern AI chatbots, facilitating ongoing dialogues and allowing multiple requests in a single command.
This redesign marks the second overhaul of Siri in the era of large language models, following the initial changes introduced in iOS 18. While the previous Siri update faced delays, this new iteration aims to integrate personal context and onscreen awareness, utilizing advanced foundation models based on Google Gemini technology. Additionally, users will have access to a dedicated Siri app to review past interactions.
