Sennheiser is set to launch the new Momentum 5 Wireless headphones on June 16, priced at $400. This model, which follows the Momentum 4, introduces significant enhancements in audio quality and active noise cancellation (ANC). Notably, the price reflects a $50 increase compared to its predecessor.
The Momentum 5 retains the 42mm transducers from the Momentum 4, which are designed for rich sound and robust bass. New features include Hi-Res Audio certification, support for Snapdragon Sound with aptX Lossless codec, and an updated Smart Control Plus app with an 8-band EQ for personalized sound settings. Additionally, users can expect a firmware update to enable Dolby Atmos support with head tracking.
To enhance ANC capabilities, Sennheiser has incorporated four microphones per ear cup, promising more effective noise cancellation for human voices and improved call quality. However, battery life has slightly decreased, now rated at 57 hours with ANC active, compared to the previous model's 60 hours. Despite this, the new headphones feature a quick charge option, providing up to three hours of playback from a short charge.
