Later this year, potential competitors in the foldable device market are set to emerge as Apple and Samsung prepare to launch their respective models. The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to debut on July 22, while Apple's foldable, possibly named the iPhone Fold or iPhone Ultra, may be unveiled in September alongside the iPhone 18.
Design differences are anticipated between the two devices. Samsung's upcoming foldable will likely feature a 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner display. Reports suggest it could be slightly lighter than its predecessor, the Z Fold 7, which measured 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when unfolded. In contrast, Apple's foldable is rumored to include a 7.8-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, along with a 5.5-inch outer display. This design indicates a wider, shorter phone that measures 9.5mm when folded and 4.5mm when opened.
As both companies gear up for their launches, numerous leaks and rumors are already providing insights into the specifications and designs of these anticipated devices.
