Apple has introduced a new feature in Safari, called Hide Distracting Items, aimed at enhancing user experience by allowing the removal of unwanted content from web pages. This tool addresses the common frustration of dealing with pop-ups and ads that often obstruct access to desired information.
Available on both iPhone and computer browsers, users can utilize this feature by accessing the Page Menu icon, enabling them to effortlessly hide elements such as login prompts and promotional advertisements. Although effective, it is important to note that some ads may reappear, and the feature does not bypass paywalls.
Once content is hidden, it remains so for future visits unless cleared from browsing history or accessed through private browsing. Users can also restore hidden items easily by selecting the eye icon near the Page Menu. This feature aims to create a more streamlined browsing experience for Safari users.
