At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the Finnish startup Willo showcased an innovative approach to wireless charging that could potentially eliminate the need for cables altogether. This breakthrough technology allows devices to charge simply by being within the vicinity of a power source, a significant advancement over traditional methods that require precise alignment.
During the demonstration, Willo CEO Hari Santamala highlighted the unique capabilities of the system, which can charge multiple devices simultaneously and from various angles. The prototype, presented as a simple cube, is not yet available for purchase and is intended solely for demonstration purposes.
Co-founder and President Marko Voutilainen emphasized that the technology, developed over a decade of research by co-founder and CTO Nam Ha-Van, represents a paradigm shift in charging solutions. As the company emerges from stealth mode, it aims to transform how people interact with power in their homes, potentially making traditional charging methods obsolete.
