Physical keyboards are making a comeback in the smartphone market, with several brands leading the charge. Among them, Unihertz has established itself as a pioneer, releasing its first QWERTY smartphone, the Unihertz Titan, in 2019. The latest iteration, the Unihertz Titan 2 Elite, is noted for its premium feel and improved design, making it more pocketable and user-friendly. This model features an impressive OLED display and a comfortable keyboard, although the camera quality is less noteworthy.
Currently, the Unihertz Titan 2 Elite is available for pre-order on Kickstarter, reflecting a growing interest in physical keyboard smartphones. Meanwhile, Clicks is also entering the market with its upcoming device, the Clicks Communicator. This phone aims to provide a similar experience to the Titan 2 Elite, featuring a larger keyboard design while maintaining the same screen size.
Clicks initially gained recognition by producing keyboard cases for popular smartphones, allowing users to transform their devices into keyboard-equipped phones. However, the need for new cases with each phone upgrade can be a drawback for consumers.
