Next year will see the introduction of the Clicks Communicator, a new smartphone running Android that features support for the Qi2 wireless charging standard. Announced prior to CES 2026, the device resembles a BlackBerry, complete with a physical keyboard and a specialized messaging interface. This smartphone will be the sixth Android device to support Qi2, joining others such as the Google Pixel 10 series and the HMD Skyline.
Although the Communicator is designed for a niche market, Clicks is actively developing proper Qi2 compatibility, ensuring functionality alongside its interchangeable backplates. This move is particularly significant as the smartphone landscape may shift with other manufacturers expected to adopt Qi2 technology in their upcoming releases, including the anticipated Samsung Galaxy S26 series.
While the Pixel 11 series will maintain Qi2 support, the future for other brands like Motorola, OnePlus, and Oppo remains uncertain, especially regarding their entry into the Qi2 market. As CES 2026 progresses, new devices and innovations in wireless charging are anticipated, adding to the excitement surrounding this technology.
