Firmware version 3.581.0 has been released for the original Pixel Buds A-Series, which debuted in 2021. This update includes vital bug fixes along with enhancements to performance and security.
Users can begin the download by accessing the Pixel Buds companion app and navigating to More settings > Firmware update on Android devices. Alternatively, the update can also be initiated through mypixelbuds.google.com on a desktop.
For those with automatic updates enabled, the earbuds will update on their own when paired with compatible devices, including Pixel phones running Android 10 or later. The update process takes around 10 minutes, allowing users to continue using their earbuds during that time. Once the download is complete, installation occurs when the earbuds are placed in their charging case with adequate battery.
If automatic updates are disabled, a notification will inform users of available updates, which can then be manually downloaded. This procedure typically takes about 15 minutes.
