Mercedes-Benz has announced a partnership with Liquid AI to enhance in-car voice control capabilities, aiming for a more reliable and private user experience. The new technology, which utilizes smaller, efficient AI models designed for on-device operations, minimizes reliance on cloud services, thereby reducing lag and improving the interaction speed.
The rollout of this advanced voice control system is planned for the second half of 2026 across the U.S. and Canada, with compatibility limited to vehicles from the last few years. Eligible models include the 2024 CLE and E-Class sedans, as well as the 2025 and newer C-Class and GLC vehicles. The technology will also support a wider range of fourth-generation models, including the 2026 electric CLA and various 2027 electric options.
This initiative is integrated with the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) and will extend to the MBUX Virtual Assistant, marking a significant step in improving in-car AI interactions that prioritize user privacy.
