The upcoming 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE is set to introduce around 3,000 new or revised components, enhancing its capabilities as a luxury SUV. This model not only carries forward the legacy of the original M-Class from 1997 but also integrates advanced technology through the debut of the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS), transforming the vehicle into a digital companion equipped with artificial intelligence and cloud connectivity.
The GLE will feature four enhanced powertrain options, all designed for improved performance and compliance with future emissions standards. The GLE 350 4MATIC offers a four-cylinder engine generating 255 horsepower, while the GLE 450 4MATIC boasts a six-cylinder engine with 375 horsepower. The top-tier GLE 580 4MATIC V8 engine now delivers 530 horsepower and features a unique flat-plane crankshaft for better efficiency.
Additionally, the GLE 500e 4MATIC plug-in hybrid includes a six-cylinder engine that presents a significant increase of 74 horsepower compared to its predecessor. Improvements in the design of the exhaust turbocharger and the incorporation of electrification through the Integrated Starter Generator (ISG 2.0) highlight the model's commitment to performance and sustainability.
