New references in the recently released macOS 26.3 Release Candidate suggest the imminent arrival of two new chips for upcoming MacBook Pro models. Internal identifiers T6051 and T6052, linked to platform codes H17C and H17D, indicate potential new M5 chip variants, with T6051 likely representing the M5 Max and T6052 the M5 Ultra.
Historically, Apple has assigned specific SoC IDs and platform codes to its M-series chips, and these new identifiers follow that pattern. Notably, there is currently no mention of an M5 Pro chip, which would typically be expected to carry the T6050/H17S identifiers.
As the release candidate is expected to mirror the public rollout version, the timeline for the next MacBook Pro models remains uncertain. However, Bloomberg has indicated that these new devices are anticipated to launch alongside the macOS 26.3 software cycle.
