The upcoming iPhone Fold, set for release later this year, will introduce several unique features that differentiate it from prior iPhone models. Notably, the device is said to incorporate a single hole-punch camera design for the front camera, a first for Apple, while other models like the iPhone 18 Pro will continue to utilize the larger Dynamic Island. This change is possible because the iPhone Fold will not support Face ID, opting instead for Touch ID to accommodate the thinner design.
The foldable smartphone will feature an unconventional display layout, resembling a small book or notebook, with a wide front screen expanding to an inner display similar in aspect ratio to the iPad mini. Unlike previous models, the left side of the iPhone Fold will reportedly be free of buttons, a design choice likely made to maintain the integrity of the hinge mechanism.
