A newly leaked image by Sonny Dickson reveals the dimensions of the anticipated iPhone Fold, showcasing its unique proportions compared to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. This foldable device is designed to be wider and shorter when closed, transitioning to a large 7.8-inch display when unfolded. Its size will resemble that of an iPad mini in terms of screen area, as it deviates from the standard slab design of Apple’s other phones.
Despite the promising features, the dummy model indicates that the Fold may not accommodate a Face ID sensor due to space constraints, opting instead for Touch ID integrated into the side button. While the thickness of the device is less than 5 millimeters when opened, making it the slimmest iOS device, it measures approximately 9.5 millimeters when folded, slightly exceeding the thickness of the iPhone 18 Pro series.
The design has sparked some debate, primarily because it emphasizes the unfolding experience, potentially leading to a bulkier feel when closed. The hinge design is visible in the dummy model, but rumors suggest the final version may feature a near-invisible crease for a more seamless look.
