Speculation regarding the release of the iPhone Air 2 has been reignited, with a new rumor suggesting that Apple may unveil the device during its upcoming fall event, typically scheduled for early September. This information, shared by leaker Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, contradicts earlier reports from The Information, which indicated that plans for the next model had been indefinitely postponed.
In a follow-up report, The Information stated that some Apple engineers are aiming for a redesigned version of the iPhone Air 2 to launch in spring 2027, alongside the anticipated iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e. Meanwhile, the iPhone 17e is reportedly set for a March launch, with mass production already underway.
Improvements for the iPhone Air 2 aim to address previous criticisms, including a potential addition of a second camera lens. Additionally, Apple is reportedly looking to reduce the device's price point. The iPhone 17e is expected to feature incremental upgrades over its predecessor, including a C1X modem and a glass back that supports magnetic wireless charging.
