Apple is expected to unveil its new smart home hub device, known as the HomePad, in the fall of 2026. This launch is anticipated to coincide with the company's peak product release season, which typically spans from September to December.
The device aims to function as a centralized hub for managing smart home products, playing music and podcasts, making video calls, and providing updates on the weather and calendar. Featuring a 7-inch square display and a front-facing camera, there may be two models available: one designed for wall mounting and another that resembles a HomePod mini for desktop use.
Notably, the HomePad will utilize Siri for voice commands, potentially incorporating a new visual representation of Siri on its interface. Priced around $350, the launch has seen multiple delays, initially slated for early 2025, then early 2026, before settling on a fall release. This timing could align with the launch of the iPhone 18 Pro or updated MacBook Pro models.
