The anticipated integration of Grok with Apple CarPlay will enhance the in-car experience of AI chatbots for drivers. Currently, Grok is featured as a placeholder app in its iPhone version, signaling that xAI is preparing to roll out support for CarPlay soon. Users will see a message indicating that "Grok Voice mode coming soon to CarPlay," although the functionality is not yet active.
Initially developed by Elon Musk's xAI, Grok is already operational in Tesla vehicles, and its upcoming CarPlay support aims to extend its capabilities to other car models. Once launched, it will join existing applications like ChatGPT and Perplexity on the platform. Meanwhile, Google has not yet committed to CarPlay integration for its Gemini models, which are set to enhance Siri in the upcoming iOS 17.
As Grok prepares for its debut on CarPlay, there is speculation about potential support for the new XChat app as well. Grok is currently available for download on the App Store.
