Google is set to unveil over 4,000 redesigned 3D emoji with the upcoming release of Android 17, which is scheduled to launch later this year. Recent leaks have surfaced, revealing approximately 250 of the new designs, showcasing a variety of face emojis, animals, and objects. These updates were shared by RKBDI through social media platforms such as Twitter/X and Telegram.
The redesigns show varying degrees of change across different devices. For instance, while the turtle emoji retains a resemblance to its original form, others, like the skull, exhibit more significant alterations. Improvements are evident in features like moon phases, which are more distinctly represented in the new designs.
Despite the excitement surrounding the updates, Google has clarified that these emoji are crafted by humans rather than generated by AI. The first wave of these new emoji will become available on Pixel phones, marking a notable change in Google’s emoji aesthetic ahead of the Android 17 release.
