Google Photos is enhancing the way users can locate and organize faces in their photo libraries by integrating Face Groups into its search functionality. This change allows individuals to more easily find images and videos featuring significant people and pets. Previously, Face Groups were somewhat hidden within the app, but now they are accessible directly through the search workflow.
The update is available on both Android and iOS platforms, expanding its reach beyond just one operating system. Users can enable Face Groups by navigating to their profile in the app, accessing Settings, and adjusting the Privacy options. This feature had been hinted at during a beta version released in July, but it had largely gone unnoticed until now.
To utilize the new search capabilities, users can tap on a person's or pet's face in the "Search" or "Ask" tab. For additional options, the "More" option can be selected to explore other faces. The rollout of this revamped feature is ongoing, and users are encouraged to check its availability on their devices.
