Anticipation is building for a new product identified as the “Google Home Display”, which has surfaced within the code of the Google app, indicating potential upcoming releases in smart display technology. This follows the announcement of the Google Home Speaker, set to launch in Spring 2026.
Google’s current offerings in the smart display category are limited, with the last model, the Nest Hub (2nd-gen), released in 2021. Since then, there have been no new additions to the lineup, making the appearance of the new display name significant. Anish Kattukaran, head of Google Home, remarked in October on the importance of smart displays for enhancing home experiences, although no official confirmation about the release was provided.
The Google Home Display appears alongside various existing Google devices within the Home app, suggesting that development is indeed occurring. The simplistic branding of the product aligns with Google's previous naming conventions, and further details are anticipated as the company prepares for the imminent release of the Google Home Speaker.
