As Google approaches I/O 2026, the company is updating the app icon for Gemini, introducing a more vibrant color palette. This latest version, 1.0.913571982, is currently rolling out on Android, although it is not yet widely available. Users may not easily notice the change, especially at smaller sizes like app icons or favicons.
The redesigned icon maintains the same shape but features a slightly larger spark. The previous dominant blue color has been reduced in the top, left, and bottom areas, allowing for increased presence of red, yellow, and green hues. The new colors are more solid and vivid, with minimal gradient effects.
The updated icon is already accessible on iOS and the Gemini app for macOS. Google is also preparing to enhance the overall user interface of the app, which includes a comprehensive redesign and the introduction of its AI agent, Gemini Spark.
