The new ROG Xreal R1 AR gaming glasses are set to launch for pre-order at a price of $849. ASUS's gaming division officially announced the availability through Best Buy, with sales commencing on the company’s website on May 17.
This upgraded model features a 240Hz refresh rate, enhancing its performance for fast-paced gaming, while maintaining a 57-degree field of view that creates a virtual screen of 171 inches from a distance of four meters. The visuals remain at 1080p, which some may find lacking compared to higher resolutions.
The included dock provides greater connectivity options, allowing users to connect multiple devices, including consoles and PCs, directly to the glasses via USB-C. However, this dock appears to add considerable bulk, potentially impacting portability.
While the ROG Xreal R1 builds on the foundation of Xreal's previous models, it offers significant improvements that aim to enhance the gaming experience.
