Energizer has introduced a new line of coin lithium batteries designed to enhance safety for children. The Ultimate Child Shield version aims to mitigate health risks associated with accidental ingestion, addressing a significant concern as over 3,500 cases of battery ingestion are reported annually in the United States.
These innovative 20mm batteries will not result in esophageal burns if swallowed, a common risk with traditional models that can cause harm within just 15 minutes. Additionally, the batteries feature a dye that colors a child's mouth blue upon contact with saliva, helping caregivers quickly identify potential ingestion incidents.
The Ultimate Child Shield technology is available in sizes 2032, 2025, and 2016, which are commonly used in various devices, including watches and AirTags. This development marks a significant step forward in battery safety, particularly for households with young children.
