DJI has introduced the Mic Mini 2, a budget-friendly wireless microphone system priced around $100. This new model features enhanced audio capabilities with voice tone presets and stylish magnetic covers, appealing to both smartphone and camera users. However, it is important to note that the Mic Mini 2 is currently unavailable in the US pending certification from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Two distinct packages are offered: one for mirrorless cameras with a 3.5mm mic output and another for smartphones featuring a USB-C port. Each kit comes with various accessories, including a charging case, one or two transmitters, a receiver, and multiple mounting options. The camera kit even includes a smartphone adapter.
In terms of design, the transmitter has shifted from a faceted shape to a flatter style to accommodate the new covers. Weighing slightly more at 0.39 ounces, the microphones promise a runtime of up to 11.5 hours on a single charge, surpassing many competitors, including the Rode Wireless Go III. Optional designer covers with retro patterns are also available for an additional cost.
