Meta has introduced an upgraded version of WhatsApp for CarPlay, enhancing user experience with a more integrated native interface. This new application moves beyond the limitations of the previous version, which primarily relied on Siri for basic functions like sending messages and making calls.
Users can now view contact profiles and access a section for favorite contacts, streamlining communication with frequently messaged individuals. Recent chats and call histories are readily available, and new shortcut buttons have been added for messaging and calling, providing alternatives to voice commands.
Since beta testing began last week, the app is now fully available, requiring users to update their iOS application and connect to their vehicle's infotainment system to utilize these features. Additionally, OpenAI has launched ChatGPT's Voice mode for CarPlay, facilitating conversations with the chatbot during driving.
