Amazon's Blink brand has launched two new video doorbell models, the Blink Wired Doorbell 2K+ and the Blink Battery Doorbell 2K+, featuring a resolution of 1,920x1,920. These doorbells offer significant upgrades over previous Blink models, providing clearer images and improved dynamic range for better visibility in varied lighting conditions. While they do not reach the 4K quality of Ring's top offerings, they enhance the viewing experience compared to the earlier 1080p models.
Available for pre-order at $50 and $80 respectively, the doorbells are set to release on May 20. They will be accessible to customers in multiple countries, including the U.S., Canada, and several European nations, although details on international availability of AI features remain unclear.
For U.S. customers, subscribing to Blink’s Basic AI or Plus AI plans will provide smart video descriptions, which can inform users about specific activities detected by the camera. Both models are designed to be dust and water-resistant and include two-way audio with noise cancellation. The Wired version is ideal for those who can install it directly, while the Battery version caters to renters needing a wireless solution with an impressive battery life.
