Apple is reportedly preparing to introduce a new feature for its iPhone that will allow users to split bills effortlessly by taking a photo of a receipt. This functionality, linked to the Apple Cash system, is expected to be integrated within the Wallet app and Messages, enabling payment approvals via an Apple Watch.
The anticipated announcement may occur next week at the Worldwide Developers Conference and could be part of the upcoming iOS 27 update. Additional features for the Wallet app, such as the ability to create custom passes from QR codes, are also expected to be unveiled during the conference.
A recent report highlighted that consumers in five countries, including the United States and Germany, frequently use Apple Wallet for transactions. This growing adoption comes amid efforts from FinTech companies like Monzo, which launched tools to help users manage shared expenses more effectively.
