Despite mixed reports regarding the future of the iPhone Air 2, leaker Fixed Focus Digital maintains that a small update will be launched this fall. The company recently reiterated its claims on Weibo, suggesting that Apple will release a new model this year, even as other reports indicate a delay until 2027 for significant upgrades, such as the addition of a second camera.
Initial projections suggested that the iPhone Air did not meet expected popularity levels, as evidenced by consistent availability for immediate delivery or in-store pickup. Following this, a report from October indicated that Apple reduced manufacturing orders for the Air to near end-of-production levels. Bloomberg previously speculated that any forthcoming model would focus on transitioning to a new 2-nanometer processor, aimed at enhancing battery life rather than introducing major design changes.
While the anticipated iPhone Air 2 may only feature minor updates, including routine enhancements, the lack of a secondary camera could hinder its success in a competitive market. Nonetheless, supply chain information supports the introduction of the new A20 chip built on TSMC’s advanced process, which may allow for reduced production costs.
