Apple is preparing to unveil watchOS 27, with a potential new watch face that may be a simpler version of the Modular Ultra design. This update is expected to cater to users of the Apple Watch Series 12, who have long sought features available only on the Ultra models.
According to a report by Mark Gurman for Bloomberg, the forthcoming update, codenamed Orchid, is testing several new watch faces, including a notable one inspired by Modular Ultra. This design will reportedly feature a prominent clock that occupies the top two-thirds of the display, accompanied by three smaller complications beneath.
While this development hints at a broader access to Modular Ultra-like features, it has raised questions regarding its utility. Critics suggest that the face might not offer substantial new functionality, as existing options already provide large digital clocks with complications.
Users remain hopeful that Apple will enhance the new face's versatility beyond the initial details shared, with many wishing for a full replication of the Modular Ultra experience for the Series models.
