New versions of the Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini could be available for purchase within the next three to four months, as they await the launch of a revamped Siri. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, both devices have been in active use at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California and have been ready for months.
The anticipated unveiling of the updated Siri will coincide with the introduction of iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 at the WWDC 2026 keynote on June 8. Following beta testing, these software updates are set for a broader release in September, the timeframe during which the new hardware is expected to launch.
While both devices will feature upgraded chips, including the A17 Pro for the Apple TV and the S9 chip for the HomePod mini, significant new features are not anticipated. Gurman noted that the Apple TV may see a refresh of its Siri Remote, but details remain sparse. The current Apple TV 4K was introduced in October 2022, and the HomePod mini debuted in October 2020, marking a lengthy wait for updates.
