Support for Apple’s AirDrop is now available on select Android devices through Google’s Quick Share, significantly enhancing file sharing capabilities. This feature was unexpectedly launched in November 2025, initially for the Pixel 10 series, and it operates independently from Apple’s technology.
Over the last few months, compatibility has expanded to include devices from the Pixel 9 series and several models from Samsung, namely the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy Z series. Users will need to set their devices to “Everyone” mode for successful cross-platform sharing, which enables seamless connection between nearby devices.
As of now, not all Android devices support this feature, and ongoing updates aim to include additional models. Oppo has also indicated plans to add AirDrop support soon, although specific details on which devices will receive this functionality remain unclear. The list of compatible devices continues to evolve, with updates expected as Google progresses in its rollout.
