Amazon has launched its new private-label golf balls under the Amazon Basics brand, priced at $15.99 per dozen. This budget-friendly option aims to attract cost-conscious golfers and was made available online in mid-October.
Testing of the balls was conducted at the Evergreen Golf Club near Seattle, where instructors Austin Nutt and Tyler Yee evaluated the performance against higher-end models such as the Taylormade TP5x and Titleist ProV1. The instructors noted that the Amazon balls felt softer and less responsive, likening the experience to hitting a “marshmallow.”
Despite their lower performance in terms of distance and control compared to premium brands, the Amazon balls showed durability, remaining unscuffed after the test. The product has received a favorable response online, boasting a 4.5-star rating from nearly 600 reviews. Golf reviewers have highlighted the value, making them a viable option for those prone to losing balls on the course.
