Today marks the rollout of firmware version 3.0.49 for Apple’s AirTag 2, following an earlier update to version 3.0.45 released in March. This is the second firmware update since the product's introduction in January, which initially had only one update.
While details about the new firmware have not yet been disclosed, the previous update improved the tracking sound to assist users in locating unknown AirTags during Precision Finding. It also included unspecified bug fixes and enhancements.
Apple is expected to provide further information about this update on its support page soon. Users can verify the firmware version of their AirTag by accessing the Find My app, selecting their AirTag, and viewing the details displayed.
