Recent rumors suggest that Apple plans to release an upgraded version of the AirPods Pro 3 later this year, featuring infrared (IR) cameras. This anticipated hardware revision aims to enhance the product’s artificial intelligence capabilities, allowing users to gain insights about their surroundings.
Initial reception of the AirPods Pro 3 was mixed, with some users experiencing fit issues. However, many have reported improved satisfaction as the earbuds' performance, including sound quality and Active Noise Cancellation, has met expectations.
According to Mark Gurman, the integration of external cameras and AI will focus on what he refers to as Visual Intelligence. Additionally, leaker Instant Digital mentioned that the new model may eliminate pressure-sensitive buttons in favor of gesture controls, although both features could also be included.
While the new AirPods are expected to maintain similarities with the current version, they will be sold at a higher price point, reflecting the added technology. Currently, the existing model is available for $219, reduced from $249.
