Kia Motors has unveiled a redesigned version of its compact SUV, the Seltos, at the New York Auto Show, showcasing significant updates for the 2027 model year. The vehicle's wheelbase has been extended by 2.4 inches, enhancing legroom in both rows of seats, along with additional improvements to head and shoulder space, as well as increased cargo capacity.
Inside, the Seltos features a modernized dashboard equipped with dual 12.3-inch displays. A notable highlight of this model is the integration of a generative AI assistant, which can be activated with the phrase "Hey, Kia..." for voice commands. Initially, the SUV will be available with the returning 2.0-liter naturally aspirated and 1.6-liter turbocharged engines, with a hybrid powertrain expected to debut later in the year.
The launch of the combustion variants is scheduled for the second quarter of 2026, followed by the hybrid model in the fourth quarter. Pricing and fuel efficiency details will be disclosed closer to the launch dates.
