The Sui blockchain has resumed normal operations following a significant outage that lasted nearly six hours, impacting over $1 billion in transactions. The Sui Foundation announced the resolution of the issue on Wednesday evening, confirming that transactions are now processing without complications.
The outage was first reported at 3:24 PM UTC, with the Sui Foundation informing its 1.1 million followers on X that developers were addressing the situation. The initial investigation began earlier that day at 2:52 PM UTC, and the network was fully restored by 8:44 PM UTC.
This incident marks the second major disruption for the Sui network since its launch in May 2023, as it previously faced issues in November 2024. Meanwhile, Sui’s token price saw a temporary spike of 4% during the outage before stabilizing around $1.84, according to CoinGecko data.
