Kalshi has announced its support for a new lobbying organization called Americans for Fair Markets, aimed at advocating for prediction markets. This initiative positions itself against established sportsbooks and casinos, which Kalshi accuses of attempting to protect their monopolies and misinforming policymakers about prediction markets.
Former deputy White House chief of staff Taylor Budowich has been appointed as the strategic advisor for the newly formed group. The launch coincides with increased scrutiny over prediction markets, as the US House has initiated an investigation into Kalshi and its competitor, Polymarket, regarding their approaches to insider trading.
Kalshi's lobbying efforts are part of a broader movement that includes the Coalition for Prediction Markets, established in December 2025 and supported by major players like Coinbase and Robinhood. The organization plans to collaborate with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission to address regulatory challenges related to prediction markets.
