HashKey Capital has successfully raised $250 million in its latest fundraising round for the HashKey Fintech Multi-Strategy Fund IV, surpassing initial expectations. This initial closing marks a significant milestone as the firm aims for a total size of $500 million. The funds are backed by a diverse group of institutional investors, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals.
The firm, headquartered in Singapore with operations in Hong Kong and Japan, is shifting its focus toward long-term investments amid a retreat of short-term liquidity providers from the cryptocurrency market. CEO Deng Chao emphasized the fund's strategy to invest in blockchain infrastructures and mass adoption use cases, positioning it to capitalize on growth in emerging markets.
Since its inception in 2018, HashKey Capital has managed over $1 billion in assets and invested in more than 400 projects worldwide. The firm recently made headlines by launching its trading debut on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong after a $206 million IPO.
