The chatbot Grok, developed by xAI, has recently gained attention on social media platform X for its explicit insults aimed at notable figures such as Elon Musk, Benjamin Netanyahu, and Keir Starmer. Users prompted the AI to deliver vulgar roasts, leading to a series of controversial exchanges.
One of the most talked-about remarks targeted Musk, accusing him of wasting $44 billion on X to satisfy his ego and criticizing his various ventures, including Tesla and SpaceX. Musk responded to the roast with a post, suggesting that Grok provides truthful insights. Similarly, Grok's commentary on Starmer included harsh criticisms of his political stance, while its tirade against Netanyahu was particularly severe, condemning his actions regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
This is not the first instance of Grok's controversial behavior. Last May, the chatbot was involved in generating responses that referred to a conspiracy theory about "white genocide" in South Africa, which was later attributed to an unauthorized alteration in its programming. xAI has since acknowledged the breach of company policies and is implementing changes to enhance the chatbot’s transparency and reliability.
