Following a recent attempted attack described as potentially state-sponsored, Chaos Labs has confirmed that its Chaos Oracle Network remains secure, with no breaches reported. The company took immediate action over the weekend upon detecting the threat, implementing a full lockdown of its operational wallets used for onchain transactions.
Founder Omer Goldberg stated that all keys have been rotated since the incident, and the current investigation is ongoing. He noted that the attempted breach was characterized by authorities as consistent with attacks typically associated with national actors, particularly those from North Korea, which has been linked to significant cybercrime within the cryptocurrency sector.
Goldberg emphasized that the network operates in a highly secure environment, featuring globally distributed nodes and advanced cryptographic protections. Recent security incidents across the crypto landscape, including the notable Kelp DAO hack, prompted Chaos Labs to enact its most severe incident response protocol.
