Authorities in Ukraine have apprehended three suspects linked to the hacking of over 610,000 accounts on the online gaming platform Roblox. The arrests were made by the Prosecutor General’s Office, involving a 19-year-old from Drohobych and two others aged 21 and 22, who allegedly participated in a phishing and malware operation.
From October 2025 to January 2026, the hackers accessed accounts to steal in-game items and the virtual currency, Robux. This scheme reportedly generated over $225,000 through the sale of high-value accounts, with at least 357 identified as particularly lucrative. Payments for these accounts were made in cryptocurrency on Russian websites.
During coordinated searches at ten locations, law enforcement seized various items, including computer equipment, bank cards, and cash amounting to over €2,500 and nearly $35,000. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities analyzing the confiscated devices. If convicted of the charges, the accused face potential prison sentences of up to 15 years.
